Focus at the Airport

I have been travelling a lot the past years. I mean, I’ve probably broken some kind of record in the number of Ryanair flights boarded by one person in one year; Milano, Stockholm, Zürich, London, Berlin, Paris, Barcelona, Amsterdam – you name it and I’ve been there.

Our vision is to create a great product. And because we have an audience on a global level we wanted to go global from the start – even though it may be a niche product.

Rushing between meetings and airports I have – several times – experienced that panic stress that you can feel when you think you’re about to miss a flight. I’ve only missed two flights (one from Zürich when I moved back after my studies there and one from London when I didn’t manage to check in 4 hours in advance). This is a pretty good considering the tight time budget I’ve had during some trips.

My solution to avoiding panic and avoiding crowds at security is to get to the airport one hour before I actually need to be there and sit and work from the gate. The airport often has wifi which makes it possible to follow up meetings before you arrive at your next destination. This means that instead of arriving to the gate totally stressed out, ten minutes before boarding you can enjoy the last hours as well.

Nowadays, I set the alarm on my Mutewatch for ten minutes before boarding so that I can wrap up and keep my calm.

Love,
Mai-Li
